The Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 is a cut down version of it's more expensive Galaxy brothers. Some of the obvious things it is missing compared to the S2 would be the large AMOLED screen and the quick dual core processor, but the Ace does compare well to the iPhone on these points and at half the price of those phones.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace was released in the first half of 2011, so many people have this phone and below is summary of what they thought.

Praise

Owners singled the Ace out for particular praise for it's speed on the Internet, ease of use and stylish design. The camera comes in for favourable praise with people saying it was better than they would have expected.

Problems

Many users have a problem with the battery life, but there are ways to reduce battery drain to more exceptable levels, see the bottom of the page for more details.

Conclusion

The Galaxy Ace is clearly a lot of phone for the money and has some excellent features you would only otherwise find in a phone twice the price.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Tips and Tricks

To prolong the battery life you really need to switch the GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth off when they are not needed. These features are turned on by default when you first get the phone even though you may never use them.

It is also a good idea to turn off background data feature under Settings > Accounts and Sync > Background Data. This will stop apps from accessing WiFi to try and update when there is no real need for them to do that, this will also save battery life and decrease the amount of data you use.
